Just so happens I'm searching for pots and came across this amazing idea by Italian-based Gartenkultur. Turn old books into planters! How artistic and thoughtful. I mean, they were once trees, so they might as well go back to nature and house plants.
You could be really clever and pair your plants with books. Maybe a cactus with a book on desserts, a bonsai with a book on eastern philosophy, a dictionary with some obscure plant. The possibilities are endless. Not sure how exactly how they cut the books or what sort of pot they used inside, but surely it's not too hard.
