Patrick Blanc, the grandfather of vertical gardens makes them look so spectacular that it seems like it would be beyond the ability of an average person to design and build one. A very creative woman in Alaska created this vertical garden from rain gutters to keep her greens off the ground and away from critters. It's not only very beautiful looking, but handy and practical. Sadly, she bought brand new vinyl gutters for this project, but I think it's equally as possible to create this from old gutters deconstructed from a house. Check out the scrap yards, architectural supplies, maybe even your own house.
